It takes an entire community to offer a Holiday Event of this magnitude and we are looking forward to all working together and, once again, becoming the hands and feet of Christ!

Harvest House was founded 25 years ago with the mission to assist in the alleviation of poverty, disease, pain and suffering by providing the needy with food, clothing, counseling, shelter, and medication.

Below are the stories of how the community helps us fulfill our mission.

The parishioners of St. Ann Catholic Church support Harvest House with donations and volunteers.  This tradition began with the efforts of Ruth Martin along with Joy and David Williams, who believed in Harvest House from the beginning.  They were instrumental in the start up of the Ministerial Alliance, which remains active today.  In fact, the Harvest House Holiday Friends is one of the best examples of different denominations coming together for a common cause.

St. Ann collects food items every week and several organizations devote a week end to special projects, as well as volunteer for Holiday Friends.  In addition, a collection is taken periodically for charity and Harvest House is one of the beneficiaries of these funds in rotation with other local charities.

I have been blessed to be on the Board for the past 5 years, presently serving as the Vice President.  Long before I was associated with the Harvest House I knew I wanted to be a part of a ministry that reaches out to those in need, that God loves just as much as everyone else.  It is a pleasure to be part of an organization that not onl helps but does so in a way that the clients are treated with dignity and respect.  No one is better than anyone else.  Only God knows what the future holds for the Harvest House.
